First Steps is a delightfully illustrated first guide to understanding diabetes and how to manage it. Written for those with type 1 or type 2, it covers monitoring, A1Cs, how to treat hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia, meal plans, carbohydrates, the importance of physical activity, sick day rules, and foot care. It also provides a diabetes care plan with space for dates and results of important tests.
